5 Reasons to Buy a Desktop

In this increasingly mobile world we live in filled with laptops and tablets and smartphones, one might wonder why they should even think about buying a desktop.  However, despite what some people have predicted, the desktop still has a place in the world of computers and shouldn’t be forgotten entirely.  Today, we take a look at 5 reasons to buy a desktop computer so you can see why you should still consider these machines when the time comes for you to make your next computer purchase.

1. Desktops are Cheaper

Everyone loves to save money.  I don’t know anyone that doesn’t.  If you are shopping for a computer on a budget, then a desktop simply makes more sense.  Overall they are much cheaper than laptops and you can get a much more powerful machine for your money while you’re at it.  If you are looking to get the fastest machine you can but are on a limited budget, I definitely recommend looking into a desktop.  While you may not be able to take it with you, you will be able to run a lot more than you could if you bought a laptop on the same budget.

2. Desktops are Better for Gaming

The best hardware comes to the desktop first.  This has always been true and doesn’t seem like it is going to change any time soon.  If you like to game, then you want the very best hardware to power those graphics.  You will find the best hard drives, processors and video cards easily available for a desktop, meaning that if you ever want to get serious about PC gaming, you simply must invest in a high-end gaming desktop.

3. Desktops are Easier to Work On

Desktops have the market cornered when it comes to comfort and workspace.  With their large keyboards and mice that fit perfectly in your hand, everyone enjoys using a desktop more over long periods of time than they do a laptop and especially a tablet or smartphone.  Yes you can add a keyboard and mouse to your laptop, but doesn’t that kind of defeat the purpose?

4. Perfect for Offices

Offices that have tons of employees that just sit at desks all day long using a computer almost always prefer desktops?  Why?  For the reasons I have already listed, that’s why.  They are much easier to use and much more cost effective.  If you run a business and have employees that need a computer but don’t need to get up and move around while they work, then the desktop just makes more sense.

5. Easy to Repair/Upgrade

If you want to add a little RAM or maybe change out the video card, you will find that it is much easier to do so on a desktop.  Heck you can change almost any part you want on a desktop for that matter.  When you use one of the other devices, you are pretty much locked into the hardware you bought on day one.  Sure you can upgrade a few components here and there, but nothing like what you can do on a desktop.

Final Thoughts

Desktops aren’t done with their run in the markets just yet.  They still have much to offer and there are many people that benefit from them much more than they would a laptop.  So don’t discount desktops just yet, you could find your next machine should be a desktop and not a thin laptop with only a fraction of the power.
